    Our servers run Apache Web server over Linux (UNIX) and IIS5/6 over Microsoft Windows 2000/2003.

    No, you will need to contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) for local dial-up access to the Internet.

    Yes. These features are specific to Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 and Linux Servers .

    4. Does Colocation America offer 24 hour technical support?
    Yes! Our experienced support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year to help you with any problems that may arise with your Colocation America account. You can reach us day or night via toll-free phone or email. The vast majority of support issues reported via email is resolved and responded to within the first hour.

    5. What kind of connection does Colocation America have to the Internet backbone?
    Colocation America connects to the Internet backbone through multiple GIG Ethernet lines to all major Tier-1 Providers. Our connection to the Internet backbone is the fastest and most reliable available.

    Colocation America minimum server configuration is Intel Pentium 4 machine with IDE HDD.

    9. Who are your bandwidth providers?
    Colocation America uses several providers such as: Level (3), AboveNet, , MCI, Savvis, T-Systems, Teleglobe, BTN Access and more.

    10. Is your network multi-homed?
    Colocation America's network is engineered for maximum uptime, including diverse fiber routes into our facility, and N+1 network connectivity to all of our providers.

    11. Is Colocation America a reseller?
    No. Colocation America operates our own facility, network, plant, and infrastructure.

    12. Do you have an Uptime Guarantee?
    If a failure occurs related to Colocation America name servers, routers, switches, lines, and/or power to the customer's equipment a credit will be issued. This credit does not include hardware failures outside of Colocation America's immediate responsibility including the customer's servers and equipment. For network outages lasting longer than 1 hour during the period of a day, Colocation America will credit the customer for 10% of their bandwidth charges for that month. This credit is given up to 3 times during the month for a maximum credit of 30%.

    13. Do you charge for technical support?
    For Managed Hosting customers, support is included with the purchase of the service. For un-managed hosting customers, we provide only remote reboot services and hardware break-fix. For Co-Location customers, we provide only remote reboot services. Additional services can be purchased at an hourly rate. Please contact a sales representative.

    14. Can I pay for my server using my PayPal account or via bank wire?
    We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, PayPal and direct Money Transfer.     15. When will I be billed?
    Our billing cycle starts on the 1st. We will mail / fax / email the invoice on the 20th, your card will be run on the 1st day of the month of service. Additional servers bought at different times of the month will be pro-rated to the end of the month.

    16. If I cancel my server do I get a refund?
    No we do not issue refunds for prepaid services. If you wish to cancel your server you will need to do so Fourteen (14) days before your next billing cycle.

    17. When will my server be ready?
    Our general turn around time is 24 to 48 hours after your order has been placed and verified.

    18. What comes installed on the server?
    We do a standard installation of the Operating System you choose. If you want additional software packages added to your server you must request it. Include in the special request section of the online order form the details of your request. We will attempt to accommodate these requests if possible and notify you of any additional charges if required.

    19. Can I send you hardware to add to my server?
    No, we do not allow customers to add their own hardware to the dedicated servers.

    20. Can I purchase ram or a hard drive and have you install it in the server?
    No, all hardware components of our rented servers must be property of Colocation America. You will need to rent the hardware from Colocation America and we will install it.

    21. Can I get a custom configuration in the setup of my server?
    Possibly, just put your special instructions in the Special request and comments section of the signup form or contact our Total Control Sales department prior to placing your order. We will attempt to install based on your special instructions. If additional charges will apply we will notify you in advance.

    22. Do I have root access to my server? Can I install my software after the server is online?
    Yes, you will have root access to your server. You may install additional software on the machine once the server is online. Third party software is not supported by our technical support team.

    23. Are your servers fully managed?
    We do offer Fully Manged Dedicated Servers, you will have all of your OS patches, security updates and monitoring covered.

    24. What do you mean by free upgrades and patches? Do you do these automatically?
    We will automatically install any upgrades and patches to your Operating System.

    25. Do you monitor my server and notify me of outages?
    Yes, all servers are monitored for free with a basic ping. Technicians will notify you according to your custom designed escalation procedure.

    Additional IP addresses are $1 per month.

    27. Can I have more than one server and create my own backend network?
    Yes, you can connect more than one server. You can connect two servers with a cross connect cable or you can connect multiple servers with a switch.

    All dedicated Servers include 1000GB of bandwidth per month.

    Bandwidth is calculated by totaling both your inbound and outbound traffic together for the entire month.

    For Windows servers you can access the server with Remote Desktop Connection or Terminal Services. For Linux based servers you can access the server via SSH.
