2024 STEM Grant Recipients
Colocation America, an industry leader in data center services, announced today that it has awarded funding to eight STEM programs across the United States through its STEM Innovation Grant.
Designed to encourage and inspire youth to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Colocation America’s STEM Innovation Grant awards funding to programs that provide unique learning opportunities to youth in their communities.
The Grant Reading Committee, a group of individuals with a vast knowledge of nonprofits, for-profits, and STEM education, chose the recipients based on several criteria, including program goals, objectives, and aspects of STEM innovation.
The 2024 Colocation America STEM Innovation Grant Recipients:
Guilford Preparatory Academy – a public charter school in Greensboro, NC, focused on providing a supportive academic setting to families in the area. Colocation America is funding a student-led Helpdesk and an expanded afterschool technology program.
Tri-State Steelheaders – a community-based nonprofit in Walla Walla, WA, focused on promoting healthy salmon and steelhead populations in nearby regions. Colocation America is funding the Salmon in School program that offers hands-on programming with live salmon.
Excel Youth Academy – a nonprofit in Atlanta, GA, uses the game of golf to build a community of well-balanced youth by teaching STEM concepts. Colocation America is funding the Junior Strokes Program, which emphasizes the importance of mathematics in golf.
Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge – a wildlife rehabilitation center located in Navarre, FL, with a mission to educate the local community on the area’s unique ecology. Colocation America is funding Camp Crow, which uses the natural environment and wildlife to teach core STEM concepts related to biology, ecology, environmental science, and conservation.
Discovery Museum – a museum in Acton, MA, offers an imaginative learning space for young children. Colocation America is funding two new interactive elements to the Museum’s collection of sustainability-focused learning experiences for young children.
Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan/Saginaw Chippewa Academy – a tribal elementary school on the Isabella Indian Reservation in Mount Pleasant, MI, focused on emphasizing active knowledge application to empower students. Colocation America is funding state-of-the-art STEM resources and equipment to enrich their students’ STEM learning experiences.
Emerald Coast Science Center – a science center located in Fort Walton Beach, FL, provides hands-on programming for students in their community. Colocation America is funding a traveling Family Science Night that offers hands-on activities not found in typical classroom settings.
Discovery Center of Idaho – a discovery center in Boise, ID, offers programming to inspire lifelong interest and learning in STEAM fields. Colocation America is funding an on-site event as part of its Outreach Program.
